Worker Ownership:

Expanding Typology and Exploring Dimensions

Harvard Business School
Boston, MA

The Ownership Project (TOP), part of the Institute for Business in Global Society (BiGS) at Harvard Business School (HBS), is pleased to announce a conference exploring an integrated understanding of the varied forms of worker ownership and its impact on businesses, their workers, and the geographic communities that host them.

Worker ownership comprises a broad category of enterprise structures; scholars often study these forms independently despite a significant similarity in the business, policy, financial, and normative contexts mediating their adoption and use. The purpose of this conference is to bring together scholars and other key stakeholders of these disparate structures to explore the dimensions used to understand and distinguish each particular form and to build a deeper understanding of how worker ownership affects the ability of firms to achieve business objectives, address societal challenges, and support human values in the 21st century.
